ABOUT ME
Hello! I’m Rebecca, the lady behind the lens. I was born and raised in the desert of Southern California, but have called the Pacific Northwest home for most of my adult life. The rain was calling, and I had to go!
Growing up, I was always the “person with the camera”, documenting my young life with disposable film. I later fell in love with photojournalism while working at my university newspaper, and have been hooked on storytelling with my camera ever since!
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to photograph live music, weddings, events, news, craft beer, and more. But at the end of the day, I’ve found that what I’m most drawn to are the simple and intimate moments that come with photographing individuals, couples, and families.
In my spare time, I love to indulge in a good fantasy novel, work on an art project, and spend time with my husband and our Australian Shepherd, Aero.
PHILOSOPHY & STYLE
The thing I love most about photographing people is the way every individual comes to the table with their own unique style and energy, making each shoot completely different. I see the world as my canvas, filled with a never-ending palette of colors, shapes, lines, and light. Having the opportunity to capture someone in their “element” or sharing a special moment in time is what I’m here for.
I know that standing in front of a camera can feel awkward and intimidating for most people- myself included! It’s completely normal to feel nervous about getting your photo taken, but know that I’m here to meet you wherever you are. I strive to create a fun and safe space for you to relax and be yourself. I will direct you every step of the way. All you have to do is show up. All are welcome in front of my camera.
I am always up for finding a beautiful location off the beaten path, however, the comfort of your own neighborhood park or backyard is often perfect. I primarily shoot outdoors and in natural light, in order to create beautiful, documentary-style, artistically framed photos.
Do you have a unique situation, disability, or require special accommodations? Do you have concerns about you or your child’s ability to participate in a photo shoot? If so, please contact me so we can chat more about what you need. I believe photography should be accessible to everyone who wants it!
